About Me

Hi there! My name is Sara Berner and I am a marketing and communications professional living in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I commissioned as an active duty U.S. Army officer in 2018 and after years of successfully fulfilling the role of a Field Artillery Officer and a Public Affairs Representative, I realized my passion for communication and decided to pursue it permanently. In 2022, I was accepted to serve full-time as a U.S. Army Public Affairs Officer and thus began my career as a professional communicator.

 

Since switching career fields three years ago, I have worked as a production lead for a team of military communication specialists, doing anything from planning event coverage, to advising executives on strategic communications, to reviewing and editing visual information products, to mentoring and fostering growth in my team.​ Having the ability to complete the tasks I expect my team to perform is a requirement I set for myself, so I make it a priority to refine my hands-on technical skills. While writing is my specialty, I also produce visual information content, having created dozens of photographs and videos over the past few years. I also take pride in creating positive, supportive, fun, and collaboration-friendly environments.

While I love working, there are several hobbies and activities I enjoy in my free time. Whether I'm reading, baking, watching baseball (Go Phillies!), cross-stitching, visiting local coffee shops, building LEGO sets, running, or taking a spin class, there is never a dull moment!

 

I will be leaving the military in 2025 and am ecstatic about continuing my career marketing and communications as a civilian. Though I am passionate about sports/baseball marketing and communications, I can adapt to any industry and am always looking for a challenge!
